Edwin Encarnacion hit 2 homers, including a grand slam, and added another single, driving in 5 as the Blue Jays stampeded over the Rangers, 12-2.

Edinson Volquez pitched 7 innings, allowing 3 hits, 1 walk and 1 run, earning the 5-2 Royals win over Oakland.

Carlos Gonzalez went 5 for 5 with a double and a triple, scoring 3 and driving in another, helping the Rockies top the Giants, 8-6.

Noah Syndergaard pitched 8 strong innings, allowing 5 hits, 1 run and no walks, giving the Mets a much needed 2-1 win over the Reds.

Dee Gordon went 3 for 4 with a run and a stolen base but his Marlins fell to the Dodgers, 7-1.

Jake Arrieta went 7 innings, allowing 3 hits and 1 earned run. But the Cubs bullpen would blow his lead and the Cardinals won 3-2 in 10 innings.

Corey Kluber struck out 10 in his 7 innings. The Cleveland bullpen would blow his save and Baltimore won, 4-3.
